DDL statements
Use the supported data definition language (DDL) statements presented here directly in
Athena. The Athena query engine is based in part on HiveQL
DDL. Athena does not support all DDL statements, and there are some differences
between HiveQL DDL and Athena DDL. For more information, see the reference topics in this
