El manifiesto de importación es un archivo XML creado y consumido por las operaciones [ImportInstance](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/APIReference/API_ImportInstance.html)de la API Amazon EC2 y. El manifiesto permite dividir la imagen de una máquina virtual en partes pequeñas para transferirlas y luego volver a ensamblarlas en el destino, con la posibilidad de volver a intentar las transferencias parciales fallidas. Por lo general, las herramientas de Amazon EC2 crean, consumen y destruyen este archivo sin la intervención del usuario.

En algunas situaciones excepcionales, es posible que los desarrolladores deseen crear un manifiesto de forma manual o mediante programación, lo que permitirá omitir determinadas operaciones de la API y, al mismo tiempo, proporcionar un manifiesto para otras operaciones que requieren el archivo como valor de parámetro.
