AWS Backup is a fully managed backup service that makes it easy to centralize and automate the backup of data across AWS services in the cloud as well as on premises.

How AWS Backup differs

The following differences apply to AWS Backup:

  • Logically air-gapped vault is not available.

  • Restore testing is not available.

  • Backup Search is not available.

  • Windows VSS is not available.

  • Amazon RDS MAZ (Multi-AZ) is not available.

  • SAP HANA on EC2 is not available.

  • Amazon Aurora DSQL is not available.
