Buying through Brazil 2P FAQ

AWS Brazil now provides an automated distribution workflow through the AWS Brazil 2P Distribution Program. Eligible non-Brazilian independent software vendors (ISVs) grant AWS Brazil the right to distribute their Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product licenses, and AWS Brazil distributes them to customers in Brazil. AWS Brazil is the seller of record, acquiring the rights to distribute SaaS product licenses to Brazilian customers and invoicing them in Brazilian Reais (BRL) with applicable Brazilian taxes. The distribution authorizations, seller disbursements, withholding tax calculation, invoicing, and seller reporting are automated.

The following pricing models are available through the Brazil 2P distribution program:

  • SaaS Contract

  • SaaS Contract with Consumption

  • SaaS Pay-as-you-go (PAYG)

Amazon Machine Image (AMI), container, and professional services products are not supported by the Brazil 2P distribution program.

What are the eligibility criteria for purchasing from AWS Brazil through the 2P distribution program?

Only buyers located in Brazil can purchase SaaS product licenses through the 2P distribution program. AWS determines your account's location from the Tax Address shown on your Tax Settings page. Make sure that your Tax Settings page is configured with your local address and tax registration number (CNPJ/CPF).

What price do I see and how is it charged?

Your private offer is priced in US dollars (USD), and your invoice is issued by AWS Brazil in Brazilian reais (BRL). The BRL amount is calculated using the Oanda exchange rate on the invoice creation date. For multi-year contracts and Consumption/PAYG products, each invoice uses the exchange rate in effect on that date.

For example, an offer that shows USD 100.00 is invoiced as BRL 510.00, at an exchange rate of BRL 5.10/USD. Applicable Brazilian taxes are then added (PIS/COFINS 9.25% = BRL 47.18; ISS 2.9% = BRL 14.79), for an estimated total of BRL 571.97.

Note

The actual exchange rate and tax amounts are set at the time of invoice creation and will differ from this estimate.

How will I know I am receiving and accepting a private offer from AWS Brazil?

On the private offer details page, the Offered by field displays AWS Brazil. This confirms you are receiving a private offer from AWS Brazil as the authorized distributor for the SaaS product licenses.

What payment methods are accepted?

  • Credit card - Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

  • Pay By Invoice (PBI): If you intend to use PBI, confirm your PBI enrollment with your AWS Account Representative. For more information, see Paying for products.

Can I use a purchase order?

Yes. You can add a purchase order (PO) number at the time of subscription or after subscription. Keep the following in mind:

  • Your PO is issued to AWS Brazil.

  • You can update or add a PO through the AWS Billing console.

  • Your AWS account representative can assist with PO setup and enrollment questions.

What taxes are included in my invoice?

Your invoice from AWS Brazil (NFS-e) includes:

  • COFINS (Contribuição para Financiamento da Seguridade Social)

  • ISS (Imposto Sobre Serviços)

  • PIS (Programa de Integração Social)

PIS and COFINS nominal rate is 9.25% (combined rate) and ISS nominal rate is 2.9%.

When will I receive my invoice?

AWS Brazil issues invoices when one of the following occurs:

  • The subscription is accepted.

  • Billing for an installment is scheduled.

  • Consumption is billed at the end of the month.

You can access your invoices through the AWS Billing console.

How do I see the terms that apply between me and the ISV?

Any terms provided by the independent software vendor (ISV) that apply between you and the ISV are attached to the private offer that you receive. These terms relate to the use of the SaaS product and apply between you and the ISV only. They do not apply to AWS Brazil or to your contractual relationship with AWS Brazil.

How do I request a refund or cancellation?

Contact AWS Customer Service with your refund or cancellation request, and include the following:

  1. Subscription details and invoice number.

  2. The reason for the refund request.

  3. Any supporting documentation.

Refund and cancellation requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and, if approved, are implemented as determined by AWS, subject to the terms and conditions of the Brazil 2P Program.

Can channel partners be included in a Brazil 2P transaction?

No. Channel partners cannot currently be included in Brazil 2P transactions.

How do I get organization-wide visibility into AWS Marketplace purchases?

Use the AWS Marketplace Procurement Insights dashboard to view cost analysis and agreement data across all accounts in your AWS organization. The dashboard centralizes visibility and management of AWS Marketplace purchases across your enterprise. It shows all ISV software agreements, invoiced amounts, renewals, and expirations in one place. You can access the dashboard through the AWS Marketplace console or embed it in your own tools using an API.
